MODI PROMOTES TOURISM IN MOSCOW

New Delhi, 14 July 2006

NEW DELHI, July 15 (INFA): Prominent Russian tours and travel companies have shown keen interest in jointly promoting tourism sector in both Gujarat in India and Moscow.

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi met the captains of various tourist companies like Astore in Tour, Tourist Zar, International Tourist sputnik etc. in Moscow and explored the possibilities of promoting tourism to visit Gujarat during the Navratri as well as International Kite Flying Festival and vibrant Gujarat Global Investors’ Summit-2007.

A high-level official delegation, led by Narendra Modi signed an agreement on Protocol of Cooperation between Gujarat and Moscow region of the Russian Federation for another five years. 

The aims and objectives of the agreement of the protocol are to develop hydrocarbon, petro sector, science and technology, education, tourism trade and commerce and cultural relations.

The meeting between Modi and Governor A. Zhilkin of Moscow was also held to explore the possibilities of the development in port sectors in both regions.

During his stay in Russia, Modi also visited Olya port and Volga river. He also discussed with the Governor, Ministers and Deputy Governor of Moscow transport and port management. There is high possibility for cargo business development between Russia and ports of Gujarat.

One-to-one meetings were also arranged between Modi and industrialists of Moscow. Business opportunities on gems and jewellery, super market, tourism industries, construction activities, shipbuilding etc. were also discussed during the meeting.  Modi also visited Moscow University and State Technical University and monitored the shipbuilding unit.---INFA

 

ANDHRA GIRLS IN PUNE BROTHELS

HYDERABAD, July 15 (INFA): Several young women from Andhra Pradesh are languishing in brothels of Pune, according to a hapless victim recently saved by the Police.

The Crime Investigation Department sleuths said that they had collected information that about 25 per cent of young women in many brothels of Pune and Mumbai were from Andhra Pradesh.

The sleuths complain that these women were not giving full information since they fear repercussions.---INFA
